VBS core faculty comprises high-calibre full-time academicians. Many of them have earned their doctoral degrees from well-reputed universities. The faculty members contribute significantly to the research in their respective specialisations, and they have published a large number of research papers and books to their credit.
The Institute has begun a novel concept of the "Flipped Classroom" which translates into a reversal of roles of the teacher and the student. The students learn outside the classroom and then learn in alternate ways in the classroom. This has helped in boosting the conceptual understanding of the students. The members of our faculty endeavour to infuse life into the topics they teach with many innovative pedagogical approaches including case studies, role-plays, project works, and several non-classroom activities. Members among our faculty promote, as a routine, lively interactions with students, and have always supported them through initiatives such as mentoring and counselling.
VBS always endeavours to support the professional and personal growth of the faculty members through many of its development programmes. All members of the faculty are encouraged to be part of the orientation programs, and/or the workshops conducted by the institutes that have high reputation/ recognition. The members of the faculty are often encouraged to present their research at national and international conferences. We also believe that the faculty members must keep themselves abreast of the newest developments in their respective fields so that they stay relevant in the highly-competitive professional/corporate world. They are hence encouraged to take up advanced courses that are offered through the MOOCs or the Massive Online Open Courses, from platforms like Coursera, edX, etc.
