Vivekanand PGDM Alumni Review: Ms. Bipasha Chowdhury’s Journey from Classroom to KPMG

Ms. Bipasha Chowdhury is a PGDM graduate of the 2021-2023 batch, who works at KPMG as a Business Associate. The story of her experience in PGDM shows how Vivekanand paid close attention to applied learning, practical projects and industry-based experiences that assist students to gain confidence and move into leading organizations in an unambiguous and well-prepared manner.

Q. What did you like the most about the PGDM experience at Vivekanand and why?

The case studies and peer learning were the most influential ones. They also pushed me to come out of my comfort zone and think out of the box. My problem-solving and communication skills were also developed as a result of the experience I gained in solving real business issues together with my classmates. It was not theory but putting things into life. These effectively prepared me to work in a fast-paced working environment at KPMG. 

 Q. What did Vivekanand do to equip you in the real world in your profession?

The program was an integration of both theoretical and practical education. It taught us the working in the field concepts. The curriculum was structured in such a way that each concept we learned was accompanied by an activity or project that helped us to realize the functioning of things in a real business environment. Live projects, case studies, and teamwork helped me to develop my confidence and adaptability. Because of this, I got into the corporate world with the thought of accepting challenges without a second thought.

Q. What was the support of the faculty, placements, or industry exposure?

The faculties were quite accommodative and encouraging. They promoted critical thinking and excellence. They pushed us to aim higher. Their encouragement made me have the will to continue enhancing. 

The placement group assisted us in all the processes from building a good resume, interview preparation to enhancing our confidence in the recruitment process. 

In addition to that, there were frequent guest lecture sessions, live projects, and industry exposure that provided me with viable information on business operation. All this was to make me begin my career on a high note.

Q What are the top three reasons why you would recommend Vivekanand to future students?

Vivekanand is a great option when it comes to aspirants who want to be placed in a well-rounded B-School where personal and professional life are shaped. The institute made me find out my strengths, molded my mindset and made me ready to face the real-life world. The most compelling reasons why I would suggest Vivekanand are as follows:

The transition between Vivekanand classrooms and my job at KPMG helped me to understand the importance of real-world learning. The exposure I received in the course of my PGDM provided the impetus that I required to develop in my career. There is only one thing I would like future students to learn about my experience, and that is to show up, be receptive to learning, and trust in your journey.
