Apoorva Nadkarni (PGDM Batch 2021–2023) began her journey as a Credit Analyst at Unity Small Finance Bank and now works as an Assistant Manager. She reflects on how her PGDM experience at Vivekanand helped her build the skills, confidence, and industry readiness needed to grow in the banking and finance sector.

Which part of the PGDM journey at Vivekanand influenced you the most and why?

The core teaching and the supportive faculty made a significant impact on my PGDM journey. They kept me focused, encouraged me to ask questions, and guided me in developing practical skills. Their guidance strengthened my confidence in applying concepts and helped me communicate effectively with peers, guest speakers, and industry experts, allowing me to build meaningful connections that continue to benefit my professional journey. The IIBF certification was an added advantage and influenced my growth in the banking sector.

How did Vivekanand prepare you for real-world challenges in your career?

One of the greatest takeaways from the PGDM program was learning how to approach challenges with a practical mindset. Whether it was through projects, assignments, or case discussions, I learned to analyze situations, think critically, and come up with solutions that can actually work in the real world. This mindset has been very useful in my current role, where quick and practical decision-making is essential. 

How did the faculty, placements, or industry exposure support your journey?

The faculty were approachable and supportive whenever guidance was needed, making the learning process smoother. Placements also played an important role by creating opportunities to interact with recruiters and understand what they expect. Industry exposure through different activities added another layer of confidence by giving me a taste of professional situations before stepping into my job.
