From Classrooms to Corporate Banking: Aashish Jha’s Success Story
Aashish Jha (PGDM Batch 2021–2023), now serving as an SME and LAP RM at CSB Bank Ltd., reflects on his time at VBS and how it influenced his professional growth.

Which part of the PGDM journey at Vivekanand influenced you the most and why?
During my two years in the PGDM program, the part that influenced me the most was the emphasis on practical learning. Beyond classroom theories, we were encouraged to analyze real business cases, work on projects, and engage in discussions that mirrored actual corporate challenges. These experiences gave me clarity on how concepts translate into workplace decisions. That practical exposure has stayed with me and continues to guide my approach in banking today.
How did Vivekanand prepare you for real-world challenges in your career?
The transition from academics to the corporate world can often feel overwhelming, but my time at Vivekanand Business School ensured I was well-prepared. The program focused on nurturing us beyond academics—building confidence, grooming our personalities, and shaping our problem-solving mindset. Whether it was through group assignments, presentations, or case discussions, I learned how to work under pressure, collaborate effectively, and present ideas clearly. These are exactly the skills I rely on every day in my professional journey.
How did the faculty, placements, or industry exposure support your journey?
The faculty support was remarkable throughout my journey. They were approachable, always ready to mentor, and encouraged us to think critically. Most of the professors at Vivekanand Business School are Ph.D. holders and seasoned industry experts with over 20–25 years of experience, which made their guidance extremely valuable. Their ability to connect academic theories with real industry practices made learning highly relevant and practical.
The placement preparation was thorough and structured. We had access to mock interviews, group discussions, resume-building workshops, and one-on-one mentoring sessions, which helped us polish our skills. The placement cell also ensured that a wide range of recruiters visited the campus, giving students multiple opportunities to explore diverse roles.
Regular corporate interactions, guest lectures, and live projects gave me the confidence to step into interviews and eventually secured a job. These experiences helped me understand real-world business challenges and prepared me to contribute effectively from day one.
What are your top 3 reasons to recommend Vivekanand to future students?
- Practical Knowledge – The program combines classroom concepts with experiential learning, hands-on projects, live case studies, and real-world business simulations, preparing students to be job-ready.
- Real-World Scenarios – Industry interactions, internships, and corporate projects provide continuous exposure to professional challenges.
- Presentation and Communication Skills – From day one, there is a strong emphasis on developing effective communication and presentation abilities, which are critical for professional success.
