Vivekanand PGDM alumnus Mr. Manish Bharthi (Batch 2017–2019) has successfully built his career in analytics and reporting. Currently working as Sr Analyst – Workday Reporting at Empower, Manish credits the Vivekanand PGDM program for its strong emphasis on research, data-driven learning, and practical exposure to real-world business challenges. In this alumni review, he shares how the program helped him develop analytical skills, strategic thinking, and professional confidence that continue to drive his success in the industry.

Which part of the PGDM journey at Vivekanand influenced you the most and why?

For me, the most impactful part of the Vivekanand PGDM program was the focus on research and analytical learning. The curriculum included 22 Business Analytics–focused subjects, which encouraged me to explore data-driven insights, conduct market studies, and understand industry trends in depth. Working on research assignments and analytical projects helped me develop a structured approach to problem-solving and gave me the confidence to make data-backed decisions—skills that have been invaluable in my current role.

How did Vivekanand prepare you for real-world challenges in your career?

The program prepared me for real-world challenges by emphasizing practical application and professional networking, following a strong “Learning by Doing” approach. I learned how to approach business problems systematically and communicate findings effectively. Regular interactions with peers and industry professionals helped me build a network that I continue to leverage in my career today. These hands-on experiences taught me to adapt quickly, work collaboratively, and think strategically under pressure.

How did the faculty, placements, or industry exposure support your journey?

The faculty played a key role in guiding me throughout my PGDM journey, providing support on research, refining my analytical skills, and showing how theory applies in real business situations. The placement support, including workshops, mock interviews, and career guidance, gave me the confidence to meet professional expectations. A highlight was my internship at Tata, which offered hands-on exposure to corporate reporting and analytics, helping me apply classroom learnings to real-world business scenarios and understand industry practices.

What are your top 3 reasons to recommend Vivekanand to future students?

I would recommend the PGDM program to future students for three key reasons. First, the strong academic foundation equips you with the knowledge and analytical skills necessary to succeed in a competitive workplace. Second, the collaborative and vibrant culture of the campus fosters teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability. Finally, the networking opportunities with peers, alumni, and industry professionals provide lasting connections that are valuable for career growth and professional guidance.

My advice to future students is to take full advantage of the research opportunities, internships, and networking platforms offered during the program; they can make a real difference in shaping your career.
